Kristaps Porziņģis Returns with a Bang

Boston Takes Control of NBA Finals

The Boston Celtics have taken an early lead in the NBA Finals, dominating the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 thanks to a huge return from Kristaps Porziņģis. The Celtics jumped out to a commanding lead and never looked back, cruising to a 118-107 victory.

Porziņģis, who missed the last three games of the Western Conference Finals with a sprained MCL, returned with a bang, leading the Mavericks with 29 points and 11 rebounds. He also had three blocks, two steals, and an assist.

The Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum, who had 21 points and 8 rebounds. Jaylen Brown added 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, and Marcus Smart chipped in with 17 points.

The Mavericks never led in the game and trailed by as many as 23 points in the third quarter. They were able to cut the deficit to just 8 points in the fourth quarter, but the Celtics pulled away down the stretch.

The Celtics now lead the series 1-0 and will host the Mavericks in Game 2 on Friday night.
